About

Built so teams can own their stack

TruPDF is engineered, shipped, and supported by TruenoTech.

01 / The productTruenoTech

What we built

TruPDF is a fully self-owned, embeddable document viewer for the web. It renders PDFs with pixel-accurate fidelity, ships 35+ annotation types with full XFDF round-trip, supports AcroForm and static XFA forms, runs structural redaction, signs with PKI, compares documents, recognises text via OCR, edits page content, and collaborates in real time.

Beside every document sits an AI copilot — summarise, explain, translate, extract structured fields, parse whole layouts — wired to whichever provider you bring. One typed SDK. React, Vue, Angular, and Svelte wrappers.

02 / EngineeringHow it's made

Technology choices

  • A self-owned engine, end to end

Rendering, annotation, forms, conversion, redaction, and signing are all built and maintained by TruenoTech. Nothing in the runtime carries copyleft obligations into your product, and every release is audited at CI before it ships.

  • Spec-correct annotation output

Every dict-level field we write maps to a real PDF spec key. TruPDF-authored annotations render identically in Acrobat, Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Apple Preview. Tested in CI on every PR.

  • AI as a first-class pillar

The AI copilot — summarise, explain, translate, extract, parse — is provider-agnostic and bring-your-own-key. Prompts never route through TruenoTech infrastructure, and it degrades cleanly to zero outbound calls when no provider is configured.

  • Closed-source, bundled-only distribution

Only dist/ ships through GitHub Packages. Customers consume a small public surface (@trupdf/viewer + framework wrappers).

  • Manual licensing

No Stripe, no billing portal. Every paid license is issued by hand via [email protected] so we stay close to every customer.
